Financing is secure and structural selections are complete. We met with our project manager for the first time and he walked us around the property. But until I saw the pink stakes in the ground it didn't seem real. All the sudden I realized we are not just building a house between those stakes. We would build a family and build memories. We would build our lives here!

In the end we decided on the palermo because of the size. We didn't feel like we had to have the morning room because we had a seperate dining room. The home office was a huge selling feature. Which means we could keep all 4 bedrooms upstairs as bedrooms. We are finishing the basement ourselves later. If cost wasn't a factor we would have had it done by them though. We also would have added the morning room, the first floor bedroom, and a 4 foot extention to the master bedroom. But that wasn't in the budget. As nice as all that would have been, they wouldn't matter much if we couldn't afford to live there! As for the upgrades we did do....I'll save that for the next post!
